The Kennedy Bariatric Surgery Program—a nationally accredited bariatric program

Kennedy University Hospital is the only Southern New Jersey hospital to be accredited by the Bariatric Surgery Center Network (BSCN) Accreditation Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

What this accreditation means for our patients

This prestigious designation means that you are ensured the highest level of care through the Kennedy Bariatric Surgery Program.

Established by the ACS in 2005, ACS BSCN accreditation is awarded to bariatric surgery centers that demonstrate a commitment to providing the highest quality care. Accredited centers must provide the resources and support necessary to address the entire spectrum of care and needs of bariatric patients.

The accreditation process

To earn accreditation, Kennedy-Stratford underwent a voluntary evaluation conducted by an independent team of experienced bariatric surgeons.
The team worked to ensure that our hospital meets the rigorous, nationally recognized standards outlined by the ACS BSCN for:

  • Documented, quality surgical outcomes
  • Standards of practice
  • Highly trained and experienced medical professionals.
